Dr. Camara Carter DVM

Hi! My name is Dr. Camara Carter.

I am the proud founder of PeacefulPaw Transitions. I grew up here in the wonderful state of Georgia. I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Public Health at Harvard University. After that I returned to my home state of Georgia to pursue my veterinary degree at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. This experience provided a strong foundation for me to be able to practice my passion. After my schooling, I completed a small animal rotating internship at one of the busiest veterinary hospitals in the country, Blue Pearl Veterinary Services.

I now work as an Emergency veterinarian and perform euthanasia services for very sick animals regularly. I also experience the fast paced environment of a veterinary ER. While efficient, I realized that many of my patients and their loved ones could have a more comfortable transition process, something that I would have liked to experience with the passing of my own beloved pets.

I not only wanted to offer professional in-home euthanasia services that allow families to be in a familiar, comfortable environment, but to also create an atmosphere that supports a tranquil, peaceful energy. Thus, PeacefulPaw Transitions was born.

Outside of my profession, I love enjoying what life has to offer. I enjoy traveling, bowling, hiking, spending time in nature, finding new adventures (such as mountain biking), and spending time with my wonderful family. I bring my passion and joy of life into work with me everyday so that I can share it with my patients and their human companions! Dr. Camara is the proud human of her furkitten -- Gaia -- a beautiful white bengal.
